كلية الآداب تقيم تعاونًا علميًا مع بيت الحكمة
أقامت كلية الآداب تعاونًا علميًا ممثلة بالسيد أمين مجلس الكلية، الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور إبراهيم طلعت إبراهيم، مع قسم الدراسات اللغوية والترجمية في بيت الحكمة. إذ حملت الجلسة الحوارية التي أدارها رئيس قسم الدراسات اللغوية والترجمية، الدكتور رضا الموسوي، عنوان "عندما نترجم نتاجنا الأدبي" يوم الثلاثاء 30-7-2024 في بيت الحكمة. وقدم رئيس الجلسة كلمة ترحيبية بالضيف والحضور، ومن ثم قدم نبذة موجزة عن السيد المحاضر. وبدأ المحاضر بتقديم نبذة عن رواية "النداء الطارئ" التي كتبها بالإنجليزية وبعد ذلك ترجمها إلى العربية. وبعدئذٍ، طرح رئيس الجلسة على المحاضر مجموعة من الأسئلة التي تتعلق بكتابة الرواية الإنجليزية وكيفية ترجمتها إلى العربية، وأهم التحديات التي واجهها المؤلف-المترجم في نقل الصورة اللغوية والثقافية من لغة إلى أخرى. وقدم المحاضر عددًا من النصائح للمترجمين الذين يرغبون في ترجمة نص أدبي من لغة إلى أخرى. يُذكر أن الرواية المذكورة طُبعت مرتين وتحولت إلى رسالة ماجستير في مجال الترجمة خارج العراق. وفي الخاتمة، قدم الحاضرون الكثير من المداخلات والأسئلة التي أثرت الجلسة الحوارية.
College of Arts Organizes Scientific Collaboration with the House of Wisdom
The College of Arts has organized a scientific collaboration, represented by the Secretary of the College Council, Asst. Prof. Ibrahim Talaat Ibrahim, Ph.D. with the Department of Linguistic and Translation Studies at the House of Wisdom. The panel discussion, moderated by the Head of the Department of Linguistic and Translation Studies, Dr. Reda Al-Mousawi, was titled "When We Translate Our Literary Work" and took place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the House of Wisdom.
The session's chair delivered a welcoming address to the guest and attendees, followed by a brief introduction of the speaker. The speaker began by providing an overview of the novel "The Urgent Call," which he originally wrote in English and subsequently translated it into Arabic. Then, the chair posed a series of questions to the speaker concerning the writing of the English novel, its translation into Arabic, and the major challenges faced by the author-translator in conveying the linguistic and cultural nuances from one language to another. The speaker offered several pieces of advice to translators wishing to translate literary texts from one language to another.
It is noteworthy that the mentioned novel has been published twice and has been transformed into a master's thesis in the field of translation outside Iraq. In conclusion, the attendees made numerous contributions and posed questions that enriched the panel discussion.
